The
Dispense Bar Code-Based Supply Inventory
Tracking System provides fast, simple and economical
dispensing functionality using the latest portable
technology. Industry standard bar coding and standard
network connectivity allows your staff to be more
productive and eliminate double entry and tedious manual
key entry of data, while integrating easily into your
existing environment.
The
Dispense System uses lightweight Portable
Data Acquisition Device (PDAD) technology with the
latest Microsoft PocketPC operating system. These
easily handled and transportable devices allow the
activity to be captured right where it happens. Patient
charge cards and double-adhesive labels are all
eliminated. You can continue using your existing
inventory shelving units, storage locations, and
portable carts.
For the
caregiver, operation is convenient and intuitive with a
minimum amount of user activity. After scanning your
user ID and entering an optional password, the PDAD
screen displays the patient list on-screen. Just touch
the patient to select, or scan a patient ID bar code.
Then scan each item being issued. You can scan
manufacturer’s product ID bar codes, supplier stock
labels, or your internal bar coded shelf labels.
Dispense records all activity and provides inventory
adjustment and patient usage/charge transactions
automatically!
Using
the convenient touchscreen makes it a snap to add or
remove items, change quantities, or select a new patient
without re-entering your ID code every time! If bar
codes are not available, you can also select items
onscreen to issue from an onscreen list. You can also
use the system to track bar coded expiration dating on
items such as catheters.
The
Dispense Server, located at your facility,
communicates with the PDADs using your Ethernet network.
The Dispense Server also receives updated A/D/T
HL7 transactions which it distributes to the PDADs.
Inventory and patient transactions may be formatted and
sent to the appropriate systems in real-time or
periodically as formatted data files.
