The Ariel Bar Code Express System provides fast and accurate product tracking functionality designed for the health care environment.  Using the latest portable data collection technology with wireless and batch options, the system can be readily implemented into your existing operational environment.

Bar Code Express utilizes powerful portable units (PDADs) with optional signature capture capability and an integrated noncontact bar code scanner running the new Microsoft PocketPC Operating System.

In addition to tracking from start to endpoint, the system supports special modules so it can be used to validate that items are placed into the appropriate delivery totes or patient cassettes.

An on-screen process on the PDAD allows the user to scan the tracking ID and record the current location and status.  An unlimited number of intermediate locations can be scanned.  Upon final delivery, the PDAD is used to record optional proof of delivery including the signer’s name, electronic signature, and signer’s employee number (if applicable).

A Tracking Log Database is built and populated with data as it accepts data from the Delivery PDADs and are date/time stamped.  The data is archived for current and historical reports.  The application provides the user with easy access to the data via built-in queries based upon the item, recipient, location, date, time, delivery person, or department.

Current item delivery status may be checked at any time.  Special features allow items/packages to be marked for hold or immediate delivery upon receipt.
